For the fries

  • 500 g French fries (firm / mainly firm)
  • 2-3 tablespoons sunflower oil (sunflower oil, refined rapeseed oil)
  • Salt

Required utensils

  • Peeler
  • Bowl
  • French fries cutter
  • Hot air fryer
Wash the fresh potatoes thoroughly and remove the skin with a peeler if necessary.
Cut the potatoes with a kitchen knife into evenly thick sticks of 1 to 1.5 centimeters.
Fill a large bowl with cold water and soak the cut fries in it for half an hour.
Take the potato sticks out of the water and dry them thoroughly with a kitchen towel. For best results, your fries should be as dry as possible.
Next, mix your pencils in a large bowl with 2 to 3 tablespoons of oil. Make sure they are well moistened with oil.
Set your deep fryer to 180°C and deep fry your fries for about 30 to 35 minutes. You should turn them briefly every 10 minutes. Ready are your homemade fries from the hot air fryer!
Tip / Note:

The actual cooking time depends greatly on the hot air fryer used. Depending on the model, it can also take 50 minutes for your fries to crisp up.
