Zutaten

For the sangria

  • 2 bottles of red wine (e.g. Tempranillo)
  • 250 ml orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 4 cl orange liqueur
  • 4 cl brandy*
  • 50g sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 apples
  • 2 oranges

Barstuff

  • Punch / Carafe
  • long wooden spoon
  • Trowel

Zubereitung

1
Wash and dry apples and oranges thoroughly. First, quarter the oranges and then cut them into slices. Quarter the unpeeled apples, cut out the core and cut into small wedges.
2
Place apples, oranges and cinnamon sticks in a large carafe. Add the orange juice, brandy and orange liqueur. Then add the sugar to the carafe and top up with a bottle of wine. Stir vigorously until the sugar has completely dissolved. Then fill the sangria with the second bottle of wine. Tip: Do not chill the wine so that the sugar dissolves more quickly.
3
Let the sangria infuse for 30 minutes at room temperature and two hours in the refrigerator. Before enjoying, the sangria can optionally be garnished with mint and lime slices. Serve with ice cubes or frozen fruit. If you like it sparkling, enjoy the Iberian red wine punch as a refreshing spritzer with a sip of mineral water.
Hint:

Feel free to experiment a bit with the recipe. Also in Spain or Portugal, the sangria is often supplemented with other fruits such as strawberries or blueberries.
