The Mimosa is the absolute classic among the welcome drinks. In its basic form, the simple drink consists only of sparkling wine and orange juice. It’s especially delicious when you squeeze the orange juice yourself. The party classic can be varied in many ways, for example with a shot of grenadine.

  • 70 ml sparkling wine
  • Ice cube

Cut a slice off half of the orange, quarter it and squeeze the remaining half. Measure out about 70 to 80 ml of the freshly squeezed orange juice.
Place two to three ice cubes in a tall champagne glass, pour in the orange juice and top up with 70 ml of sparkling wine.
String a quarter of the orange slice between the pulp, pin it to the rim of the glass as a decoration and serve immediately. Your mimosa is ready.

Especially on hot summer days, the Mimosa is a low-alcohol and delicious alternative to the usual champagne reception. The fruity and fresh drink is the ideal refreshment to welcome your party guests. Pay special attention to a good degree of ripeness of the oranges used.

The Bellini – A delicious alternative to the Mimosa

The Bellini is a delicious change from sparkling wine with orange juice. Invented in 1948 by Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry’s Bar in Venice, it is made with Prosecco* and pureed white peaches. Bellinis are usually served chilled (without ice) and garnished with a slice of peach.
